1. How much does it cost to use Dictate This! ?
Just 10p per minute at any time. It's a simple pay as you go service with no other charges, and no
registration fee.
2. Do you type up the dictations or listen to my recordings?
All recordings are stored on our secure system, and none of our staff has access to them. Your recordings
can only be accessed with your username and password.
Currently, Dictate This! is an automated audio recording facility, and we don't offer the option to type
up dictations.
3. What format will my recordings take?
We store and send out all recordings in the '.WAV' sound file format, which can be opened by any
Windows PC or Apple Mac.
File sizes vary according to the length of the message recorded, at a rate of approximately 200
Kilobytes for every 5 minutes of recording.
4. How long are my recorded dictations stored for?
Dictations are stored on our site for 90 days, giving you plenty of time to download them permanently onto
your computer.
For a small fee, we can store recordings for up to two years on our site. Contact us for more information
on this.
5. Can I listen to my recordings from a phone rather than downloading them from the web site?
Not yet, but we're looking to introduce this service within the next few months. If you think you would
find this useful, please let us know so we can register your interest and start developing this as soon as
possible!
6. Can I dictate from any phone?
Yes - just remember that any number you want to dictate from must first be registered with our site. You
can register up to 10 different numbers at a time on your account, and change or update them as often as
you like.
7. Will I need to navigate complex menus and enter a pin number whenever I call the number to start dictating?
No - when you ring our dictation number, the system will simply answer with a short message asking you to
begin your dictation.
When you have finished, simply hang up and log in to the web site to retrieve your message. Alternatively,
configure your account to have any recordings sent directly to your email address, so you don't even have
to access our site to retrieve them!
8. What else can I use the service for?
Hopefully you now have a pretty good idea of how our service works. Dictate This! can be used to record
almost anything from sudden brainstorms and conference calls, to seasonal greetings and birthday messages,
or even an audio diary! The possibilities really are endless.
